This book is my favorite children's book in the history of forever!  Dooley is such a fantastic underdog.  He is a misfit with the kids at school and even with his own family.  I love both the words and the illustrations in this book and memorized them as a child.  I had the opportunity to read to my daughter's class last year, and this was my first pick!  What a joy to see that the kids loved it as much as I did!  It is now out of print, but if you ever see it in a used bookstore, snatch it right up!
